You've got to keep a good sense of humor!!.......and a coat, mittens and warm socks!
This was the view from our back porch several hours ago. Now, it is almost dark, the mountains still cannot be seen through the falling snow. Even the field, neighboring homes and  foothills have retreated behind the white stuff. You can barely tell where my husband swept the porch less than an hour ago.  The wind has picked up blowing everything horizontally. The snow covers ice from the melt when it almost reached 50*. So, it is very slick outside!  The temperature is dropping and winter advisories are in effect. It is expected we will  have lows in the single digits soon. I usually wouldn't mind-----I love being inside a snow globe!

Good night for something warm and steamy for dinner eaten before a roaring fire. Oh, yeah...........

But:

My husband has purposefully let the main floor wood stove go out so he could fix the broken baffle and clean the wood box out. The wood stove in the basement is going but doesn't really heat the main floor well by itself so the temp is dropping inside the house too.

And I have nice, big, cold salads about ready for dinner.

Sometimes you just have to laugh and go with the surprises ......or bad planning!

Brrrrrr...................
