Winter Beauty
Today a rabbit watched us
in our living room window watching him.
The sky is baby blue.
The snow sparkles as if dusted with glitter.
The mountains and foothills, stark and white,
reflect the still-bright but slowly-setting sun.
There is a tiny bird in our mock orange bush.
Deer tracks dot our front lawn.
My husband is working outside in the cold.
The sun shining in our dining room casts a bright golden light,
and makes the house plants shimmer green.
Breathtaking!
"For the beauty of the earth,
for the glory of the skies,
for the love which from our birth
over and around us lies;
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise."

"For the beauty of the earth,

Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise."
